Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This policy explains what data the DoomScroller app for Android ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it. DoomScroller is published by Ostende.

Summary

What we collect and why

Game progress

Your progress (upgrades, currencies, unlocked corridors, settings and whether you removed ads) is saved on your device. It stays there until you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Account and cloud save (optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google, we use Firebase Authentication to create an account linked to your Google account. Firebase receives your Google account identifier, name, email address and profile picture URL from Google. We then store a copy of your game progress in Google Cloud Firestore under your account so it can be restored on another device or after reinstalling. Signing out stops cloud backups and keeps your progress on the device.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played and where players get stuck. It records gameplay events (for example runs started and finished, corridors reached, bosses fought, upgrades bought, ads watched and purchases made), how long sessions last, and device information such as model, operating system version, language, country (derived from IP address) and an app-instance identifier. We do not use analytics data to identify you personally.

Crash reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive reports when the app crashes. A report contains the crash details, device model, operating system version, the screen and corridor you were in, and an installation identifier.

Advertising

The app shows interstitial ads and optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and information about your interaction with ads in order to serve, measure and, where allowed, personalise ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other regions where it is required, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time from the Privacy options button in the game, shown where consent is required, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

Buying Remove Ads turns off interstitial ads. Rewarded ads remain available if you choose to watch them.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive only the product purchased and a purchase token, which we use to deliver the item and to restore Remove Ads if you reinstall.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. Data is processed by the following service providers on our behalf, each under its own privacy terms:

We may also disclose data if required by law.

How long we keep data

Deleting your data

To delete your DoomScroller account and the cloud copy of your progress, email us at [CONTACT EMAIL] from the Google account you signed in with, with the subject "Delete my DoomScroller data". We will delete your account and cloud save within 30 days and confirm by email. Analytics and crash data are not linked to your account and expire on the schedule above.

To delete the progress stored on your device, uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings.

Children

DoomScroller is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
